Our Civil Society Manifesto

The reason for developing this manifesto...
By definition a manifesto is a public declaration of principles, policies, or intentions, especially of a political nature. Foresters Community Finance has developed this manifesto to frame the pratice of our everyday work. It provides a reference point for the purpose and meaning of our collective efforts.

Our manifesto calls on the hidden reserves that we each carry within us, encouraging us to champion the development of civil society in our community by being the change we want to see.

We expect this declaration to spark vigorous debate. We welcome this, as we understand the political nature of our statements. We hope that the range of views that result from reading this manifesto inspire further dialogue, analysis and the inspiration to act. After all:"The landscape of civil society is shaped by the actions of its people." (The Shape of civil society to come - Carnegie UK Trust 2007).
