Jeremy’s paid and unpaid work reflects his longstanding commitment to working towards securing better housing outcomes for low income housing consumers in Queensland. He is a keen advocate for people in communities across Queensland who wish to develop more affordable, sustainable housing options, particularly for people who seek housing tenure through boarding houses, hostels and caravan parks. Jeremy is a long time active member of numerous community and housing organisations around Brisbane.

Morrie has extensive experience as a director on a number of community organisations. He is a long-time community development worker in the Brisbane area, and is committed to being part of the process by which ordinary people address social, economic and environmental issues through mutual aid.

As a part of Carmel’s commitment to volunteering within her community, Carmel has a long history of active participation on committees of management with local community organisations, including an energy conservation group and a local work cooperative. Carmel is a strong advocate for justice and equity for people with learning difficulties. 

KERNOT, Cheryl (Ba Dip Ed.)

Cheryl is Associate Professor at the newly established Centre for Social Impact at UNSW, Sydney. A former teacher and member of the Australian Parliament for 11 years, Cheryl has returned from six years living and working in the UK as Director of Learning at the School for Social Entrepreneurs in London, and as Program Director at the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, Oxford University. She was an external reviewer of charities and community organisations and a consultant to black and minoirty groups in East London. Cheryl's position at the Centre for Social Impact enables her to build on her UK expereince in the emerging field of social enterprise in Australia. Cheryl is a qualified cricket umpire. 

MOONEY, Adam (CPA, MSocSC, MApFin, BBus (Acc))

Adam has worked in the international development, microfinance, financial services and transport fields in Australia and overseas for over 20 years, including three years as Head of Community Development Finance with one of Australia's largest banks. After working in Australia, Cambodia, England and New Zealand, Adam now works with Reconciliation Australia as Director, Reconciliation Action Plans. Adam has a major interest in the role economic inclusion plays as a social determinant of health. He has considerable experience in the good governance of financial institutions, planning, forecasting, analysis and process improvement. Adam is a CPA and Chair of the Foresters Community Finance Audit Risk and Compliance Sub-committee and is also a Director and Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee of AMK Cambodia, a large financially sustainable microfinance institution.
