Community Finance Appraisals - The first step towards purchasing a building
It is difficult to plan for the future without having certainty about the base from which your organisation will operate and pursue its community objectives. Over more than fifteen years Foresters has come to understand the central importance of a building for:
-
Connecting with community;
-
Providing a fit-for-purpose space to delver services;
-
Stability of location; and
-
Generating independent wealth.
Many community organisations reach a decision that they want to get off the leasing roundabout and move toward owning their own building. In order to do this, it is important to have a clear and thorough understanding of your organisation’s current financial position.
Community Finance Appraisals
A Community Finance Appraisal, completed by Foresters, offers an independent and comprehensive overview of your organisation’s capacity to purchase a building.
The Appraisal will provide general information about your organisation’s readiness to purchase a building and the options available to achieve this goal, such as accessibility to finance or shared investment, or the need for planning. The Appraisal will also provide guidance about the next steps in a strategy to building a community-owned asset.
The Community Finance Appraisal is delivered in the form of a professional report that you can assist you support or create future plans. It is a credible tool to engage in discussion among board or management committee members when considering the purchase of a building.
Community Finance Appraisals are designed to meet the needs of community organisations of all shapes and sizes.
Community Finance Appraisals have assisted a number of organisations to conclude that they are in a position to borrow funds to purchase a building. In other situations, organisations have been offered shared investment options that best suit their capacity and needs.
If the Appraisal indicates that purchasing a building is not an option, Foresters can then provide consultancy services to assist in the financial planning necessary to move toward the goal of owning a building.
Foresters specifically design programs that offer education, training, consultancy and planning to assist your organisation to move into a stronger position for future asset building.
