Community Finance

Community Finance is just as the name suggests, finance for the community.  Community Finance focuses on channelling capital into underserved markets that would have difficulty securing finance from mainstream financial institutions. 

These markets include Third sector organisations - traditional charities, community organisations, clubs and other assocations.  They may also include Fourth Sector organisations - social businesses, social enterprises and community enterprises.

Community Finance Insititutions, like Foresters Community Finance, exist to deliver Community Finance products and services to Third and Fourth sector organisations.    Foresters Community Finance has been delivering finance to the Third and Fourth sectors for over fifteen years.  Most of the community finance has been used to build the assets of Third and Fourth Sector organisations.  

These assets include buildings which have been used to deliver community services, residential properties which have been used to deliver affordable housing and equipment finance to support the growth of social enterprise and social businesses.
