Social Enterprise Solutions Launch

The Social Enterprise Solutions program was officially launched on 11th October 2011. Belinda Drew, CEO of Foresters Community Finance Ltd presented an outline of the program and its purposes. Peter Murphy, CEO of Christian Super a significant investor in the program, spoke to this new opportunity in ethical investments.

Attendees included guests from the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) and Christian Super, both key partners, as well as many individuals from the mainstream finance sector, private commercial sector and a large range of guests from the non-profit/ social enterprise sectors.

As a program within Foresters Community Finance Ltd, Social Enterprise Solutions is tasked with distributing funds from the Social Enterprise Development and Investment Fund (SEDIF) to appropriate social enterprises.

Program Manager, Shari Lawrence was excited, “the launch timing couldn’t have been better, we’ve reached an operational capacity within the program to effectively guide a social enterprise to investment from their initial enquiry.”

Thus far, Social Enterprise Solutions has had a great response rate with over 65 enquiries coming through since the announcement that Foresters Community Finance Ltd would be administering the SEDIF fund.
