With loan capital available now, Social Enterprise Solutions are ready to lend to any Australian social enterprise looking to grow and develop their organisation.
The Social Enterprise Solutions team has been actively working with multiple social enterprises throughout Australia through the initial phases of securing finance since November 2011.
Program Manager, Shari Lawrence said, ‘We’ve been working closely with a diverse range of social enterprises, ranging from small organisations through to large national social enterprises. Each enterprise is different, and this is where we differ from mainstream lenders in that we take a hands-on approach with our clients to ensure that the loan they receive is designed specifically to suite their individual needs.”
The approach to lending does not take the standard application, assessment, loan drawdown approach seen in mainstream lending. Instead, Social Enterprise Solutions’ hands-on approach is ‘demand led’ lending, meaning it starts with an investment appraisal followed by the development of a suitable loan product in the investment packaging phase.
Whilst there is an initial fee for service to start the appraisal phase of the loan process, the resulting appraisal is an independent, comprehensive due diligence of the client’s organisation. Even if the client chooses not to proceed through the five phases of the loan process, there is value add for the client at each stage of the process completed.
“When the information needed to assess the organisation’s capacity to take on a loan is readily available, the investment appraisal can be completed quickly and loan packaging can follow swiftly thereafter,” Shari Lawrence added.
